13-month-old ingests cocaine

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — Palmetto police are searching for a grandmother and her boyfriend after the woman's 13-month-old grandson was brought to a nearby hospital after ingesting cocaine.

Authorities said the baby was brought to Piedmont Newnan Hospital and then transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston when doctors found out what was going on with the child.

Doctors confirmed the child tested positive for cocaine. The boy is expected to be all right.

Palmetto police said they got a search warrant for the grandmother's home and police said, "Evidence was found and collected at the residence," but would not get into specifics as to what was found.

Warrants have been issued for the 34-year-old grandmother, Ebony Daniel, and her boyfriend, Charlie Martin, 22. So far neither have been arrested.

The boy's mother, who is 17, is considered to be a witness in the case and has not been charged.
