Police nab suspected crying robber

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery at a hotel last month.

The fugitive squad arrested Teundre Jason Burston, 30, on charges relating to the robbery of the Days Inn hotel on Northlake Parkway on June 23.

Police say Burston walked into the hotel with a gun and went directly behind the counter to approach the female clerk who was working alone. They say he then took the clerk to the cash drawer and grabbed stacks of cash from the register.

The whole incident was captured on surveillance video.

At one point, police say Burston looked directly into the camera. Police say Burston then threatened the clerk with the gun in order to get access to the video camera. The clerk told him she didn’t know how to work the camera. According to her statement and police, Burston was so frustrated he left in tears.

Burston was identified after the footage was broadcast on TV, according to investigators.

Burston is charged with armed robbery weapon and aggravated assault.
