The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting in Conyers.
Police said officers were called to a domestic situation on Rockbridge Road Friday morning where a man stabbed his mother seven times and then himself.
Comm. Jackie Dunn of Conyers police said the man’s sister told them her brother had just returned from a job in Louisiana and was acting strange Friday morning.
Police said a firefighter at a nearby fire station came out to see what the commotion was, and saw the man stabbing himself several times. Dunn said an EMT kicked the man to get him off his mother and the man made a move toward him before police shot the man with the knife.
The man’s mother was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and is in stable condition. The man who was shot is at Grady Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
