COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A police-involved shooting in Smyrna shut down a busy road Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting happened on Spring and Park roads, where a Smyrna officer pulled over a suspicious car. Shots suddenly rang out and a chase proceeded, Channel 2's Ross Cavitt learned at the scene. The suspect crashed into civilian cars during a brief chase and at some point, the officer was able to pin the suspect wounded suspect.
Police said the officer was not injured during the ordeal.
The suspect was rushed to a hospital to treat his injuries. His identity is unknown at this time.
