Police: Men shot after bar fight over women

ATLANTA — Atlanta police say a fight over women at a bar ended with two people shot.

Several lanes of Moreland Avenue near Custer Avenue were shut down early Tuesday morning as crime scene investigators searched for shell casings from the shooting, which took place in the middle of the street.

Police said a disagreement began inside the Driftwood Sports Bar and Grill, and spilled onto the street before gunfire was exchanged.

"There's some kind of altercation, they left that location, and unfortunately the altercation came outside. The victims were down toward the street and shot multiple times in the arms and legs," Atlanta police Capt. Timothy Peek said.

The victims told police a group of men started a fight with them over women. Police said the altercation may have been recorded by cameras inside the bar.

"Reviewing the video footage inside the club to determine if we can get an identity for the actual person who committed the crime," Peek said.

So far, there is no description of the shooters.

The victims underwent surgery overnight and are expected to recover.
