Police: Man struck, killed by MARTA train

ATLANTA — MARTA officials say a man was struck and killed by a train early Saturday at the Atlanta Civic Center station on West Peachtree Street.

Channel 2 Action News has learned the man, identified as Atlanta resident Bert Langley, was in an unauthorized area of the station. Authorities said about 20 passengers were on the train when the incident happened at approximately 1:20 a.m.

Passengers were transported to another area to catch connection transportation, officials said.

The incident is not expected to interrupt train service.

The incident is still under investigation.
