Police: Man shot, killed by robbers in Hapeville

HAPEVILLE, Ga. — Hapeville police say a man was killed when he ran away from two armed robbers.

Police said they received a call about gunshots fired late Tuesday night. When they arrived, they found the man dead, police said.

Investigators said the man and a woman were walking down Dorsey Road when two men approached them and stuck a gun in their faces. When the couple took off running, the gunmen fired several shots, killing the man. The woman was not hurt.

The woman spent several hours at police headquarters telling investigators what happened.

Police have not identified the victim. Authorities said they believe robbery was the motive.
