Police issue sketch of man they say assaulted girl near bus stop

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — Douglasville police are looking for a man they said attacked a teenage girl who was waiting for the school bus.

Police released a Georgia Bureau of Investigation sketch of the man they are seeking.

They said he chased a 14-year-old Chapel Hill Middle School student from the bus stop in the Charlton Crossing subdivision to her home about 7:30 a.m. Friday.

“Unfortunately, he was fast enough that he did get a hold of her,” Douglasville police Capt. Brad Stafford said.

Investigators said the man did not say a word but pushed his way inside the home and violently slammed the teenager against the wall. Police said she swung a basket with dishes in it at him, and may have cut his head. Detectives said the teen ran upstairs, and the attacker run away.

The student told police man appeared to be between 30-40 years old. He had facial stubble, unkempt bushy hair, sideburns and a missing tooth. Investigators said he may have a cut on his face he got during the assault.

The suspect was last seen wearing a red shirt, a yellow jacket with a reflective green cross, dark pants and black shoes.
