GAINESVILLE, Ga. - Two Gainesville police officers were taken to the hospital after they were struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning.
Gainesville police said the officers pulled over a female motorist, and during the stop, she drove off, hitting the officers.
One or both of the officers fire shots at the driver, who police believe was located about a mile away at Bennett Drive and Spring Road with a gunshot wound.
The woman’s condition is not known. The officers were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, but police said they are OK.
