Police: Driver of stolen truck ran across yards

ATLANTA,None — Police are searching for a man after a wild chase that stretched from Cobb County to southwest Atlanta.

Officers told Channel 2 Action News they spotted a stolen pickup truck in Smyrna and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The suspect raced off, driving erratically while trying to loose police along Interstate 285 and then Langford Parkway.

Channel 2 photographer Casey Nichols said police told him the stolen truck exited Langford Parkway, drove through several yards and hit a power pole before coming to a stop on Briar Glen Lane.

Officers said the man got into another vehicle that was nearby and drove away. Police could only describe the suspect as a black male wearing a blue jacket.

Police took the stolen Ford pickup truck into evidence and loaded it onto a tow truck just after 11 a.m.
