Police: DeKalb man arrested for trading illegal photos of kids

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A five-month police investigation has led to the arrest of a DeKalb man for allegedly trading illegal pictures of children.

Channel 2’s Ryan Young was the only reporter there when DeKalb officers served a search warrant at a house on Henderson Road just off Lavista Road.

Sgt. Torrey Kennedy said Selvin Ortiz was arrested. Detectives have been tracking Ortiz’s activity across the web, they said.

“We’ve been tracking that location for quite some time now. For the last couple of weeks the buildup has been more than suspicion,” Kennedy said.

Inside the home, police say the found computers and other devices. They’ll do a forensic audit on the items, dissecting every image on the computer that could lead to more charges against Ortiz, police said.
