Bobbi Kristina arrest warrant dismissed

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has obtained an arrest warrant issued for Bobbi Kristina Brown just days before she was found unresponsive in a bathtub.

Channel 2 investigative reporter Jodie Fleischer obtained the warrants and is working to get more information about them for the Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat.

The warrants are related to Brown's failure to appear in court for a previous traffic citation. She was ordered to appear before a judge within 72 hours.

The warrant was dismissed after court officials learned of her condition.

Late Friday afternoon, Bobbi Kristina Brown's grandmother, Cissy Houston, arrived at Emory University Hospital to see her granddaughter.

Her arrival comes as Channel 2 Action News learns that a judge has ruled the public should not see a search warrant related to Brown's near drowning.

Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne confirmed that Max Lomas, the man who found Brown unconscious in her Roswell home has also changed lawyers.

Lomas has now retained former DeKalb County District Attorney J. Tom Morgan and former prosecutor John Petrey.

A source tells Winne that Lomas' previous counsel had tried to negotiate with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office to get immunity in the case after Roswell Police suggested they had unspecified grounds to revoke his bail. Lomas is currently out on bail after pleading not guilty to marijuana and weapon charges.

Roswell Police Chief Rusty Grant told Winne that police are still conducting a thorough investigation into the medical emergency involving Brown and police are "going to follow the evidence and see where it leads us."

A source told Winne there are two search warrants; one for Bobbi Kristina's home and a second one for computers, phones, iPads, routers and other electronics.

Browns in hotel fight

The new developments come after police had to be called to an Atlanta hotel after a fight broke out among Brown's family members.

Channel 2's Liz Artz has obtained the 911 calls from that fight.

According to a police report, Atlanta police were called to the W Hotel in midtown Atlanta because of an altercation that took place among the Brown family during a celebration for Bobby Brown's birthday.

Our last glimpse of Bobby Brown was as he left Emory Hospital Thursday afternoon. He gave our cameras a thumbs-up as he drove away.

The 911 call was made by an employee at the bar around 12:40 a.m. Friday.

"They are having a fight here in the bar. A group fighting in the bar and they are not leaving," the employee said.

According to the police report, Shayne Brown got into an argument with his mother, who then spit in his face and hit him in the head with a glass bottle.

"They used one of the glasses at our bar as a weapon. They hit someone and cut them in the face," the employee said.

The report says Shayne Brown did not want to press charges against his mom, but went to Grady Memorial Hospital for injuries to his head.

Condition unchanged

Meanwhile, Bobbi Kristina Brown continues her fight at Emory University Hospital after being found face down in her bathtub Saturday.

Bobby Brown maintains his daughter is not brain dead, disputing a flurry of reports published by other media outlets. Channel 2 Action News is committed to reporting only accurate information directly from Brown's family.

Attorney Mark Trigg representing the estate of Whitney Houston says he’s been monitoring the situation surrounding Bobbi Kristina Brown and ensuring she is getting the best care she can possibly receive. He says the estate, for which Whitney’s sister Pat Houston is executor, and Bobby Brown’s family are cooperating fully in key decisions about Bobbi Kristina’s health.

After reports surfaced that the family was preparing to say goodbye to Bobbi Kristina, Bobby Brown released the following statement Thursday:

"If we issued a statement every time the media published a false report regarding this matter, that’s all we would be doing 24 hours a day. This is false, just as is the vast majority of the other reporting that is currently taking place.”
