DUNWOODY, Ga.,None - Dunwoody police said the man suspected of stealing an $1,800 puppy from a pet store has been arrested.
The Petland store manager said a man came on Jan. 22 asking to buy the Maltese puppy as an anniversary gift, but then ran out of the store with the puppy in his arms.
While the man was fleeing, he dropped his cellphone, police said.
Atlanta police arrested Timothy Cannon, 23, on Monday. He is charged with shoplifting and taken to the DeKalb County Jail.
The puppy was returned to the store in good health several days later by a man who said someone else had dropped it off at his house.
