Police arrest man wanted in double homicide

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County's Fugitive Squad tell Channel 2 Action News they have caught a 26-year-old man accused of a double homicide.

Authorities said Travis L. Graves was the man behind the fatal shootings on Willa Drive late Tuesday night.

While police have yet to officially identify the two men killed, family and friends said Antonio Smith and neighbor Delaine King were the men gunned down.

Neighbor Jim Rodgers described a gruesome attack that he heard from his house a few doors down.

"They killed everyone that didn't jump out of a window. They came to murder everybody in that house," Rodgers said.

Rodgers said he heard five to seven shots fired as he called 911. He then realized his close friend, King, was inside. King's mother said she was standing outside trying to find her son.

"As far as I know he died trying to help the owner hold the door against the gunman who shot through the door," Rodgers said.

The Smith family said both victims likely knew Graves from the neighborhood.

"We hope he is captured and sentenced fairly," Smith's sister, Tarnell Jackson, said.

Sources tell Channel 2's Tony Thomas that although Graves is young, he has a pretty thick criminal file.
