DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - DeKalb police announced the arrest of a suspect in nearly 20 drug store robberies around metro Atlanta.
Police chief Dedric Alexander said investigators believe 29-year-old Denard Whiteside hit stores across the city. He said Whiteside's arrest was the result of the combined efforts of several local agencies.
The Dekalb County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Task Force was the agency that made the arrest on Nov. 8.
Investigators said at least nine of the stores Whiteside struck were in DeKalb County. They said he also robbed several in Atlanta and one in Johns Creek.
Police said surveillance video showed him forcing the CVS employees into the back office. They say his robbery spree started in March.
