Police: 88-year-old chases robber

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga.,None — Police are looking for a man who they say pushed an elderly woman and stole her purse. Channel 2's Linda Stouffer found out investigators think he's done it before.

Police said an 88-year-old woman was leaving a CVS pharmacy on Powers Ferry Road in Sandy Springs when she was ambushed.

"He approached her, pushed her in the backseat of the vehicle and snatched her purse," Sandy Springs police Officer Forrest Bohannon told Stouffer. "He got her purse, credit cards, maybe a little bit of cash."

But the senior went after him.

"On foot she ran after him. She is 88 years old, so she's a pretty tough victim," Bohannon said.

Police are now searching for Saul Locke Jr. Detectives believe he has targeted seniors before in Sandy Springs, as well as Cobb County. He has an extensive criminal record, with charges including drug offenses, obstruction and attempting to elude officers.

The Cobb County Sheriff's Office already has two active warrants out for Locke. They said they want to find him before he targets anyone else.
