Couple found dead in Clayton apartment

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police are investigating after a foul odor in an apartment led to the discovery of two bodies.

Police said a maintenance man noticed the smell in a unit at the Hidden Creek apartments on Mount Zion Boulevard.

Officers were called just before 11 a.m. Friday.

Police said they have not identified the bodies and the deaths are currently under investigation by the Clayton County Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. A police source told Channel 2's Tom Jones the killing was a murder-suicide.

Neighbors said they were accustomed to seeing the couple come and go.

"It's very shocking because it's something I didn't expect to see," neighbor Donterious Lee told Jones.
