NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Only Channel 2 Action News was there as Roswell detectives went door to door questioning residents about some vulgar 6th Congressional District campaign fliers that appeared in a north Fulton County subdivision.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington was at Lyndhurst Way in Roswell and said both Republican and Democratic voters condemned the flier.
The fliers came in a plastic baggie with a rock. Police are trying to find the person responsible.
Neighbors in the quiet subdivision told Washington that the fliers first appeared Sunday morning.
Many found the fliers either in their driveways or on their cars.
The fliers are too explicit to show on television or online, but they feature a picture of Karen Handel and refer to President Donald Trump and a sexual act.
Washington saw Roswell detectives talking to neighbors. So far, no one is in custody.
Jon Ossoff's campaign also included tampering when some of his signs were stolen. Both the Handel and Ossoff campaigns have condemned the fliers.
Voters told Washington that the flier won't sway them either way.
"I think it's a fear tactic, and it's unbelievable that people will spend the time to do something so trashy,” voter Ginger Powers said.
"I just think a lot of people are passionate about the political race and they have a difficult time expressing themselves in the appropriate way,” voter Clatrina Lane said.
