Sandy Springs police investigates road-rage shooting on I-285

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Sandy Springs police are trying to track down the driver who fired several shots at a man after cutting him off. The victim says he was merging onto Georgia 400 when another man cut him off and fired shots at him.

Matthew Sauve says the road-raging driver cut him off as they merged onto I-285 coming from Georgia 400 in Sandy Springs.

"I honked my horn at him and he was driving erratically on the on-ramp, so when it opened up onto 400, we passed him," Sauve said.

Seconds later, Sauve says he heard four loud pops.

"I was confused, because I was driving on the road and I see his car, and I see something sticking out of his window. He had really dark tinted windows," Sauve said.

Sauve pulled over and called the police who are still looking for that driver.

A study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found 66% of traffic deaths in the US are caused by aggressive driving.

Nearly 40% of road rage incidents involve guns, and men 19 and under are most likely to exhibit road rage.

Sauve is happy the bullets missed him, his passenger and his car.

Police say the suspect was driving a dark colored Ford Sedan with tinted windows.
