NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Sandy Springs police are looking for thieves who stole hair weave from a store at gunpoint.
Police say two women went into Sally Beauty Supply on Roswell Road on July 11 and stole several packages of weave off the shelf.
When an employee tried to stop them in the parking lot, they pulled a gun.
Police said the women stole eight sets of weave.
"It's a hot commodity. They keep it locked up in the Sally's because everyone wears it nowadays," customer Hikmah Hassoun said.
According to the incident report, the women got into a car with a child in the back seat and drove off.
"I've lived in this vicinity the last six years and never had any issues," said Marian Grice, who works at an insurance agency upstairs from the beauty supply store.
Police said an officer spotted the car driving recklessly toward the highway, but called off a chase because the child was in the car.
"Someone needs to take the child away from them because the child will learn this behavior," Hassoun said.
The police report said a customer was roughed up during the robbery, but left before police arrived.
"I have a daughter as well and don't feel safe bringing her into an environment of this sort," Grice said.
Anyone with information on the case should call Sandy Springs police.
