Officer hit by car in Sandy Springs

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The Sandy Spring police department is searching for a car that hit an officer Friday night.

Police said the car hit an officer that was on a traffic stop just before 9 p.m. on Roswell Road near Morgan Falls Road.

The car left the scene.

Investigators believe the car was a bright blue compact Ford.

The officer was taken to the hospital and is being treated for minor injuries.
