Police seek person of interest after body found following house fire

NORTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — One person is dead and now police are looking to find a man who they say is a person of interest a house fire in Sandy Springs.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the woman who died as Amber Holliman, 39, of Sandy Springs.

Channel 2's Lauren Pozen spoke to a man who said he is the victim's brother. He said family members are beside themselves.

He also told Pozen that Patrick Nolan, the man who police are looking for, dated his sister and they lived in the house that is now a crime scene.

“Initially, this came out as just a fire in a home and it has escalated,” Sandy Springs police Sgt. Sam Worsham said.

Once the fire was put out, investigators found a woman dead inside the house along Hammond Drive. Now, police are searching for Nolan.

"He may be driving a 2006 Ford Explorer, blue in color, Georgia tag PYZ1420," Worsham said.

Earlier Saturday, neighbors called 911 after seeing the home on fire. When firefighters searched the home, they found the victim.

“I thought somebody was grilling at 10:30 in the morning and then I walked around the house and I heard the fire trucks coming and I looked at the house and there was smoke coming out of the house,” neighbor Paul Gilleland said.

It's unclear how Holliman, died. Officials say that won't be known until the medical examiner’s report is released.

For now, police are focusing on finding Nolan.

“Detectives in their initial investigation have just identified him as a person of interest,” Worsham said.
