McDonald's in Newton County fails health inspection

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A McDonald's restaurant that’s been around for decades has failed a health inspection.

It’s the McDonald's on the Highway 36 Bypass in Newton County.

Among the violations, the health inspector said a worker threw away used gloves and then another worker took them out of the trash and hung them up in the food prep area.

One mother with teens in her car who was about to go to the McDonald's told Channel 2 Action News that she had no idea the fast-food restaurant got a score of 55 on a health inspection March 30.

One teen said if a restaurant wants employees and customers to come in, it has to make sure the environment and the cooking supplies are on point.

We take the safety and quality of our business very seriously and are addressing any and all issues."

The fast-food restaurant will be re-inspected this month. We’ll let you know what the new score is.
