Neighbors on edge after alleged attempted child abduction

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — One DeKalb County neighborhood is on edge after residents complained to police about an attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl.

According to what the girl reported, a man inside a white four-door car with tinted windows tried to scare her into jumping into his car as she tried to go to the Twin Lakes Swim and Tennis Center on Briarlake Road.

Not wanting to be identified, one homeowner reported to police that a child predator is roaming the Greenwood Acres subdivision.

"He's looking at girls around 12 years old. He's made an attempt on two little girls," the resident said.

Residents reported seeing the man at a second location in that neighborhood.

Another 12-year-old girl said a man yelled at her and told her to get into the car near the Leslie Beach Club about three miles away.

In a separate case, neighbors reported the white four-door car with tinted windows pulled up in someone's driveway where three boys were home alone.

The neighborhood association put out an email blast to all residents to watch for a child predator.

"We just ask people to help keep a look out for this person, and stay safe and watch out for your kids," the resident said.

The Greenwood Acres community put in a request for extra police patrols.

So far no one had a description of what the man looks like.
