ATLANTA - Atlanta police said they have charged the mother of a 3-year-old girl after she was reported missing for nearly 18 hours.
Azaria Grace Iwangou was reunited with her grandmother Saturday evening after the child disappeared with her mother’s acquaintance just before 1 a.m. Saturday.
Iwangou’s mother, Jo Flowers, was charged with reckless conduct. Officers also charged Flowers’ acquaintance, Kenneth Beasley, with interference with custody.
"I'm just grateful and thankful to God that it turned out alright, and I got my grandbaby back home safe and sound,” said Flower’s mother, Ruth Burns.
Iwangou was found to be in good health.
