More than 40 guns stolen from Gwinnett business

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police said a crew of thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of guns from a Gwinnett County business.

The burglary happened Saturday at about 2 a.m. at the Big Gun Armory. More than 40 guns and rifles were taken from the business and the items were worth about $24,000, police said.

“We weren't fully stocked but we had a lot of guns in here,” Tyler Keifer said of the rifles that once lined the walls of his father-in-law’s store.

Channel 2’s Alina Machado spoke to police about the burglary that happened in a matter of minutes.

“In that time, the suspects forced entry and managed to steal dozens of handguns and shotguns and then fled the scene,” Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Jake Smith said.

The store has a surveillance system inside. Keifer said they’re working to get the video from their security company. He hopes the video will show the suspects in action and help police identify them

But in the meantime, Keifer is trying to stay positive.

“I'm very thankful that none of us were here because you never know what could happen,” he said.

Keifer said they’ll be taking steps to enhance security at the business.

Anyone with information about the burglary is being asked to call 911.
