Dozens of journalists from across the country honored Channel 2's Monica Pearson this weekend.

The veteran anchor received the Lifetime Legacy Award from the National Association of Black Journalists.

The convention wraps up Sunday in New Orleans.

Channel 2 anchor Jovita Moore and WSB radio assistant programming director Condace Pressley made the introduction.

Pearson happily accepted the award before serenading the audience.

Pearson is retiring from the anchor desk on July 25.
