Mom of toddler fatally shot wants gunman behind bars

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News spoke to the mother of two toddlers who were shot over the weekend.

Sylvia Motley told Channel 2's Erica Byfield she wants whoever killed 2-year-old Ty-Teyanna and injured 1-year-old Isaiah behind bars.

Police said someone fired two shots through the front door of a home on Polar Rock Place in southwest Atlanta early Saturday morning.

"The person who did this please just turn yourself in because my baby didn't know what was going on.  Just please turn yourself in because it hurts me each and every day," she said.

Motley and her brother suspect their home was targeted because one of the kids' uncles unknowingly bought stolen car rims.

"That is not even worth taking a kid's life for - a pair of rims, that doesn't make any sense," her brother, Charlie Howard, said.

Ty-Teyanna's funeral will be held Saturday.

Motley and other family members are trying to raise money to cover burial and headstone costs.  The family established an account for donations for funeral costs through Wells Fargo bank locations.  The account is Ty-Teyanna Motley's name.

Motley said her son is expected to be released from the hospital sometime this week.
