ATLANTA,None - Major new developments were released late Thursday afternoon in the case of a missing Buckhead woman.
Investigators said they have identified a person of interest in her disappearance and found the woman's car.
Detectives are planning to go to St. Louis to interview that person of interest, who has been identified as Robert Kirk.
Kirk is said to be a friend of Stacey English, who was visiting her and was the last person to see her.
In the meantime, investigators continue to canvas the area around English's condo for clues.
Channel 2's Erin Coleman was there when two Atlanta police detectives met with English's parents, then walked into her condo. It was
around that time Channel 2 Action News learned investigators found her car, which had been missing since her disappearance.
anyone, if you found anything come forth now," English's stepfather the Rev. Kevin Jamison said.
English vanished the day after Christmas after her family said she had an argument with Kirk.
"He's extremely important to the investigation. He was last person to have contact with her," Maj. Keith Meadows of the Atlanta Police Department said.
At a news conference, investigators revealed they are now working with the FBI and will travel to St. Louis to talk to Kirk.
Investigators said they found English's white Volvo at a library branch that also houses a mini police precinct in south west Atlanta on Dec. 27. Police said the car was still
running when they found it and had been in an impound lot all this time.
"When my missing persons detectives ran the vehicle, (it) didn't show as being in impound. What we're trying to find out is what happened during that process," Meadows said.
As detectives continue to go over the car looking for forensic evidence, family and friends are staying prayerful.
"We need our daughter home," Jamison said.
Investigators said they don't have any info at this point to suggest foul play.
