Metro Atlanta weather | Cold, rain stick around for Monday

ATLANTA, Ga. — The rain won't let up any time soon, according to Severe Weather Team 2.

Disturbances from the southwest dragged moisture to the metro area Sunday evening, but more rain is expected into Monday morning, according to Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Karen Minton.

Parts of north Georgia may get 1 to 2 inches of rain. Areas south and east of Atlanta will see lighter amounts, Minton said.

Minton said temperatures will struggle to rise on Monday, with the high expected to only reach 49 degrees.
