HALL COUNTY, Ga. - Federal agents are looking for two men who robbed a Hall County bank with an assault rifle.
The men walked into the SunTrust Bank on Thompson Road in Gainesville about 5 p.m. on Tuesday and announced they were robbing the bank, an FBI spokesman said. Surveillance cameras showed one man pointing an assault rifle at customers and the other man carrying a white bag.
The robbers jumped over the counter and grabbed cash from the tellers. One of the men mentioned that his home may have been foreclosed, officials said.
The men left the bank after taking the money. Agents are looking for two white men in their mid-twenties to early-thirties with a medium build. One man was wearing a red ball cap and the other was wearing sunglasses and a knit cap and appeared to have a goatee.
The FBI is asking anyone with information about the robbery to call 404-577-8477.
