MARTA report delays for buses across Atlanta due to snow

ATLANTA — The snow and ice in metro Atlanta is causing problems for MARTA’s buses.

Bus service is currently running 25 major routes, including ones on main arteries and those providing access to medical facilities. Additional bus routes are running and routes may be added or removed depending on conditions.

Bus service will end at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17 as roads are expected to re-freeze overnight. Trains will continue to run on each line overnight, without passengers on board, to prevent issues related to freezing temperatures.

Rail service will resume at 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18 and run on a modified weekend schedule with trains arriving every 10-20 minutes and Red and Gold Line service to the airport all day. Limited bus service will begin at 6 a.m. with buses running on major roads and those servicing medical facilities

A total of 20 routes planned to operate based on weather conditions.

The rail service will run on a weekend schedule with trains arriving every 20 minutes.
