MARTA bridge demolished in Buckhead

ATLANTA — Crews worked to demolish a bridge on Georgia 400 Saturday.

Crews worked overnight tearing down an old, MARTA bridge at the Buckhead train station. One southbound lane of 400 was closed for the construction. A pedestrian bridge already built will make that exit obsolete.

“It's creating a brand new entrance into the Buckhead transit station, meaning a lot more people will have great access to the transit system,” said Jim Durrett with the Buckhead Community Improvement District.

Crews had the work done by noon and reopened all the lanes.
