COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Marietta firefighters said they would have to spend the night at a recycling facility where a fire smoldered in a huge pile of recycled materials.
The fire appeared to have started near a conveyor belt in the back part of "Marietta Recycling," located about two miles north of the Marietta Square Saturday.
Company officials told firefighters they are not sure what caused the fire, since the facility had been closed for the holiday weekend.
The fire sent smoke billowing over the north part of Marietta.
It was expected to be well into Sunday before the situation was completely safe.
