ATLANTA — The search is on for the man police say assaulted a woman.
Police released a sketch of the man after he was spotted in the Thomasville Heights neighborhood.
Investigators said a woman flagged down an officer on patrol near University Avenue and Pryor Road around 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 5, told him that she had been sexually assaulted and begged him for help.
“That’s very scary to be in this area and to know something like that happened,” resident Valerie Perry-White told Channel 2’s Audrey Washington.
Atlanta police hope the sketch will lead to getting the man off the streets.
“Women should be very cautious and make sure they’re not out here that time of night,” Perry-White said.

“I don’t remember seeing him, really,” resident Lilli Weatherspoon told Washington.
Women such as Perry-White, who often stops by the area for lunch, said she’s keeping an eye out.
“I certainly hope there will more officers in this area, so hopefully that doesn’t happen to anyone again,” Perry-White said.
