DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A man was shot and killed in a townhome neighborhood near Lithonia, DeKalb police said.
The fatal shooting happened at the Covington Station subdivision, in the 5300 block of Strathmoor Manor Circle, police said.
According to neighbors, a 19-year-old male was shot several times at close range across the street from his mother’s home. His body was found in the street.
The victim was identified as LeRobbian Lowe.
Relatives said the victim had some juvenile trouble, but had straightened out and got his high school degree.
“He was quiet. He didn't bother nobody. He pretty much stayed to himself. He was trying to do better,” said Lowe’s cousin Jaquis Lowe.
Witnesses told Channel 2’s Jeff Dore they didn’t see the shooting, but did see a man with long dreads running from the scene.
Police said they want other witnesses to call Crimestoppers at 404-577-8477.
