Man shot, killed inside Atlanta nightclub

ATLANTA — Police are investigating a homicide inside a southwest Atlanta nightclub early Wednesday morning.
 
Atlanta Police Captain Terrell Griffin says a man was shot and killed inside the Blue Ivory restaurant and lounge at 599 Whitehall Street around 4 a.m.

Channel 2's Darryn Moore says his source told him the gunman walked up to the victim and without saying a word, shot him several times. The man's body was found in the middle of the building near some pool tables.

Police believe the victim was the intended target and may have known the shooter.

Witnesses say they heard about 6 shots and ran. Police say the guman may have escaped during the chaos after the shooting.

At least 20 people are being interviewed by police.

Police are reviewing surveillance video inside the club to see if it shows the shooting.

Authorities say the victim was a man in his 20s.
