Atlanta police say they found a shooting victim at his home less than a mile away from the crime scene.
Officers responded to a shots fired call around 9 p.m. Monday at an apartment complex on Jonesboro Road, but they could not find a victim.
Another call a short time later led officers to a home about a quarter mile away on Springside Drive. Police said the man was found shot on the ground.
“So we did respond to that location, (and) find that victim. They were transported to Grady Hospital and subsequently died as a result of gunshot injuries,” Capt. Paul Guerrucci of the Atlanta Police Department said.
Police believe someone drove the man to his home after he was shot.
