Man killed in single-car crash in DeKalb Co.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police have identified a man killed in a high-speed crash early Thursday morning.

Detectives said the Mario Ware, 27, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Columbia Drive just before 1 a.m. when he struck a utility pole. The mangled car landed in a yard, seemingly split in half.

Ware and his three passengers were ejected from the car. Ware was killed and his three passengers are in serious condition.

Neighbors in the area told Channel 2 Action News this is the second fatal crash this month.

"People just speed, flying, not taking their time. A lot of kids on the road. They just speed up and down the road," neighbor Ruby Streeter said.
