DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. - A man trying to stop a dog fight died Friday, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened on Mitchell Road off North Burnt Hickory Road around 4 p.m. A 911 caller initially reported a dog attack, but deputies determined the man died of a heart attack.
Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller said two dogs were attacking another dog, and the man tried to break it up. He said the man had a heart attack and died in the street.
