Man found shot to death in front of DeKalb Co. business

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County police are investigating a body found in a body shop parking lot.

Officers found the man shot to death near Panola and Redan roads after someone called 911 to report hearing shots fired in the area Thursday night.

Police said the man had no identification on him and the businesses nearby do not have surveillance cameras.

Homicide and crime scene investigators spent five hours trying to piece together the evidence.

"We're still trying to identify who this individual is and just see where it takes us. The circumstances may be a bit unusual," Maj. Cornelius Yarbro of the DeKalb County Police Department said.

The owner of the shop arrived after receiving a phone call from police. He did not want to discuss the incident with Channel 2's Darryn Moore.

Police are hoping someone saw what happened and will come forward with information.
