ATLANTA - Police are investigating what caused a man to fall to his death from an 18th floor balcony early Wednesday morning.
Atlanta police said the man lived with a woman at the City Heights condos on Ralph McGill Boulevard in northeast Atlanta.
“She (the roommate) is telling us the last time she saw him he was standing on the balcony smoking a cigarette, and afterward he basically disappeared from sight and she ran downstairs to find him laying on the ground,” Capt. Scott Lee said.
Officers said they found the man, who is 23 years old, dead in the courtyard.
Police said a security officer told them the man had been drinking earlier in the night.
Police said they are not ruling anything out in the investigation until they get all of the facts.
