Man arrested in Cobb County for bringing weapons onto school grounds

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A 22-year-old North Carolina man is in the Cobb County Jail for bringing multiple weapons onto school grounds.

On Friday, Joshua Harvell was arrested while sitting in his vehicle outside Kennesaw Mountain High School at 10:45 in the morning. The school's police officer walked up to the car and noticed Harvell smoking a cigarette. When the officer searched the car, he found a 40-caliber semi-automatic pistol, a rifle with 19 rounds of ammunition, a 3-inch knife, a machete and a box containing 355 rounds of ammunition.

Channel 2's Dave Huddleston looked at Harvell's Facebook page and found pictures of him pointing a hand gun at the camera, and another posing with a samurai sword.

Harvell made his first court appearance on Nov. 25  and was denied bond because the court deemed him dangerous. His next court date is scheduled for Dec. 17.
