Man accused of slashing estranged wife

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A man wanted in an attack on his estranged wife has been taken into custody.

Dartanyan Kingsberry is accused of slashing Jennifer Altman with a razor this month. The attack forced her to get nearly 3,000 stitches, 700 of which were on her face, according to the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

"I just remember him saying that I wasn't going to be pretty for anyone else, if he can't have me, no one can have me," Altman said.

Kingsberry, who was wanted out of New York City, was arrested at a house in Locust Grove on Wednesday. Deputies said U.S. Marshals found him hiding in a closet.

Kingsberry faces attempted murder charges. He will be extradited back to New York.

"I can't do anything. I can't look at myself anymore," Altman said.
