LOCUST GROVE, Ga. - Henry County authorities arrested a man accused of using his pickup truck to kill his pregnant girlfriend.
Brian Feltman, 27, has been charged with murder and feticide amid allegations that he intentionally ran down Megan Pope, 27, just before 6:30 a.m. Sunday.
“He kept yelling she’s three months pregnant. She’s my girlfriend,” neighbor Damien Powers said.
Powers was one of the first to respond to the scene on Golfview Crossing in the Heron Bay subdivision in Locust Grove.
“She was in shock and couldn’t speak,” Powers said.
He told Channel 2’s Carl Willis the couple had an argument and that Feltman had been looking for the victim.
Henry County police said Pope was about four months pregnant had walked away from their home.
“Initial statements seemed to indicate that he just come upon her in the roadway and may have led us or initial officers to believe that someone else had struck her,” Henry County police Maj. Jason Bolton said about Feltman, who they said denied hitting Pope.
But based on other interviews, physical evidence collected at the scene, police believe his actions were intentional.
Police wouldn’t call it a party, but said a gathering of some sort was being held at the couple’s home before the incident occurred.
Feltman’s first court appearance is scheduled Monday.
