Man accused of exposing himself to children

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — A Sandy Springs man is accused of exposing himself to a group of people, including children.

Police arrested Pedro Osorio, 52, Wednesday after a mother called officers to report she found him performing a sex act on himself inside a car on the property of the Sierra Creek Apartments off Northwood Drive.

"My daughter was right next to his window, right next to him," witness Francisca Molina told Channel 2's Mike Petchenik.  "I saw the whole thing."

Molina said the scene caused her great concern, so she called police to report the incident. Her daughter is 4 years old.

"I think he should stay in jail and never come out," she said.

Police told Petchenik that Osorio had a story for officers who found him with his pants unzipped.

"His excuse to the officers is that he was going to the bathroom," said Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose. "He noted in the report that he was intoxicated and there had been previous complaints on this man."

Rose said Osorio is facing misdemeanor charges now, but detectives could upgrade them to felony child molestation charges if they determine children directly witnessed the act or that Osorio intended for them to see it.

"It still creates a situation where underage children are exposed to acts and things they shouldn't be exposed to," said Rose.
