NFL star Lawrence Taylor's son arrested on rape charges

POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. — Powder Springs police confirm that the son of former NFL player Lawrence Taylor was arrested on rape charges over the weekend.

Lawrence Taylor Jr., 32, was arrested Sunday evening. His booking sheet lists charges of statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy.

According to a release from Powder Springs police, two juvenile girls told detectives that they had inappropriate sexual contact with Taylor Jr. One of the incidents occurred Saturday, and another in early 2012.

NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor Sr. was accused of raping a 16-year-old runaway in New York in 2010. According to ESPN, Taylor Sr. pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute in a plea agreement. He was sentenced to six years' probation.
