Lockdown lifted at KSU

KENNESAW, Ga. — A lockdown has been lifted at Kennesaw State University

The lockdown was due to a possible gunman on campus.
Several agencies were called to the campus Friday afternoon.

Channel 2's Jim Strickland said a person of interest was located and deemed to be not dangerous. No weapon was found.

KSU sent the following update Friday afternoon.

At approximately 2 p.m. this afternoon, Kennesaw State police dispatch received a call about a suspicious man with a possible weapon in his pocket. As a precaution, university officials placed the campus on lockdown and searched for the individual.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., police found the individual with a cell phone in his pocket and confirmed that he was not a threat and never posed a threat to the community.

The lockdown has been lifted and the all clear issued.
