Judge denies bond for cane beating suspect

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A judge denied bond Saturday for a suspect accused of beating a man with his own cane.

Police arrested Dorian Boyd Friday. They say Boyd attacked a handicapped man in midtown Atlanta earlier this month after a parking dispute.

The whole incident was captured on camera and posted on Youtube, It happened outside a pet store on Piedmont Avenue.

The victim told Channel 2’s Amy Napier Viteri Boyd began hitting him with the cane after an argument over a parking spot. Police say Boyd then began hitting the victim’s girlfriend when she tried to step in.

The victim needs reconstructive surgery to repair a broken orbital bone, broken sinuses and fractured cheek bone.

Boyd is facing felony charges including aggravated battery, assault and robbery.

Police also arrested and charged Natasha Boyd. She bonded out of jail Saturday.
