Investigators searching for shooter on cellphone video

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has obtained dramatic cellphone video of a fight between two neighbors that spilled into Epworth Street in southwest Atlanta.

The video shows neighbors gathering around to watch as a man wearing a blue bulletproof vest decided to settle some scores.

You can't see the shooting, but you can hear the gunshots on the video.

A grandmother who was hit by one of the bullets told Channel 2's Ryan Young her grandson almost got shot.

"By the time I pushed him off the sidewalk, the bullet grazed me on my side. If I didn't moved him he would have got shot in the back," the grandmother said, asking not to be identified.

She told Young she's angry about how the shooter put everyone's life in danger by pulling the trigger.

Another man is now on crutches dealing with the throbbing pain of two bullet wounds.

So far detectives are only working with a nickname of the suspect.

When the shooting was over it seems the man in the bulletproof vest knew he went too far. He told the woman he shot he was sorry and he didn't mean to shoot her.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers to try and help identify the shooter. Their phone number is 404-577-8477.
